I've been working on my hand lettering lately, and slowly bringing you guys along for the ride on my Snapchat (@tiffany-arlene) and Instagram. A bunch of people asked me how I got started and what tools I like to use so I decided to make a blog post about it!
Hand Lettering Tips
Here are a few tips that I have learned over the past few weeks:
- Practice, practice, practice - You'd be surprised how good you get at hand lettering if you practice just a few minutes a day. I try to hand letter in my planner (pictured above) so that I get a little practice and the important tasks for my day stand out.
- Start off with basic tools - I started off with a simple composition graph notebook and thin sharpies. There's no need to spend a bunch of money on a hobby that you're just starting out on.
- Be kind to yourself - Perfection isn't attainable when you're staring out. All great things take time, so if your doodles aren't great to begin with don't fret, they will improve with time!
